Best line of the whole VRD blogswarm: "It all changed with Styx’s The Grand Illusion. (That sentence has never been written in the history of civilization.)"

Thanks for participating. I look forward to reading your stuff regularly over here.

Thanks for stopping by, Alan! Luckily, I had no idea what the lyrics to "Undercover Angel" meant, and apparently my parents didn't pay attention, either...

@WZJN: "I Don't Wanna Be a Soldier Mama"? LOL! You're lucky J Edgar Hoover didn't open a file on you!

What a great story to follow along. You had quite the following apparently! I remember having a 'band' before I began a band (5th grade?) where we lip synched to The Monkees Daydream Believer. Our encore was "I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier Mama" by Lennon.

They never asked us back again.

Alan O'Day? I remember seeing you perform in Boston. Pretty good show.

I really enjoyed reading that my song "Undercover Angel" was part of your song set! I had the same dreams, from different records, as a kid in the 50's with a ukulele. I am grateful that my dreams came true!

Best wishes,

Alan

Oh man, I love Saturday Night. S-s-s-saturday naaaaa-aight! Glorious. BCR are violently underrated, if you ask me.

My brother, friend and I also had a miming band, but never performed in concert. Friend did the Elvis show, I rocked Rod Stewart, and my younger brother and three girls who lived on our street were Boney M. Thank goodness camcorders weren't invented yet!
