I'm with you on most of these, but I certainly wouldn't lump Toad in as a guilty pleasure. Trust me, I totally get it - judging from friends' reactions to my love for them, they are very polarizing. But I stand proudly and publicly as a huge fan of Toad and consider them quite influential to my ever-evolving taste in music. They must not be forgotten.

Although Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 had its Beatlesque moments, I can't go along with George Michael. Sorry. 8)

Billy Joel will never be uncool. Even if he did divorce Cindy Crawford or did Cindy divorce him?
As for STYX. My first big concert. I was with my son in Murfeesboro, Tn.
Despite the smoke of who knows what, I thought I was in heaven! Now every time I hear "Babe" or "Come Sail Away" my heart skips a beat! Good rythm makes a good song. Words? Who can understand them?
I got the message of Trees! I've already started sketching!!!!!

Oh, I love Lisa Loeb. Had she been born ten years later, we'd all be blogging about her admiringly. And damn right on Billy Joel. Though at least after An Innocent Man, he jumped the hunchback.

From an American perspective, I suppose the likes of Bow Monkeys and Scritti Politti were one-hit wonders. But not in Britain. The Blow Monkeys never were huge, but they released a few stunning songs and a couple of pretty good albums. And Scritti Politti... oh, man, you want to get yourself the back catalogue, they had a string of fine albums. They don't deserve to be lumped together with Kajagoogoo at all.
