It's funny that you would use the word 'childish' to describe this behavior. I've been listening to a guy named Eef Barzelay a lot lately (actually had the opportunity to have a beer with him a couple of nights ago here in San Francisco) who used to be in this band called Clem Snide, and the very first track of his on his first solo album, 'The Ballad of Bitter Honey', is this rather sad (but very beautiful) song narrated in first person from the perspective of a hip-hop groupie (or hip-hop video extra or something like that) and one of the lines of the song says, "And they all think I'm stupid, I can see it in their eyes / But I know what's inside their hearts / I penetrate their lies / Sometimes it gets me crazy, but I keep my feelings hid / 'cuz I know deep inside they're only frightened little kids"

You can listen to this song on the June 2 post of my blog, and to a few tracks of his latest record on my June 22 post. Cheers!
